Dear Parents and Caregivers

From 2027 onwards, all Catholic schools will now have a three week break between the end of Term 2 and the start of Term 3. A number of schools in other systems are already doing this, and from what I have been told, it has been well received. Therefore, please note these dates in your diary. In 2027, Term 2 will end on Friday 25 June for all students, and Term 3 will commence on Monday 19 July. Also, Term 1 will commence on Thursday 28 January for the students (teachers will start on Monday 25 January). As a one off bonus, all schools will be closed on Easter Tuesday which is Tuesday 30 March. We haven’t finalised the rest of the 2027 calendar yet, and we will get it to you later this year. However, please be aware of this significant change that will affect all schools in our system.

Scripture Reflection Psalm 103:13 ”As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who honour and trust in him.”

Father’s Day Dads, Grandads or the special man in your life; please don’t forget to come into the classrooms to spend some time with your children from 2.00pm on Friday 4 September. You may even be treated to a delicious donut.  We don’t often get many dads into our classrooms, and this day is always a special one for our community. I really hope that as many of you as possible do come along and brighten up your children’s day. I take this opportunity to wish all the special men in our students’ lives, a wonderful day this Sunday.

Literacy Support In Week 8 this term, we welcome Mrs Danielle Roberts to our community. Danielle will take over the role as a Literacy Support teacher. However, it will be in a slightly different capacity from the Reading Recovery role as CEWA no longer provides training in this space. Danielle will work with the junior students who need extra support with their literacy skills.

Edu Dance I’m sure that most of you have already placed it into your diaries, however, please remember that the Edu Dance concert will be held in the hall for all students in the PP to Year 6 Gold classes, commencing at 6.00pm on Monday 21 September. All students are required to meet in their classrooms at 5.45pm in their costumes. The Kindy students will be doing their own special performance earlier in the day and parents have been notified separately.

Pilgrimage Please note that I will be away for the last two weeks of this term as I am going on a pilgrimage to Italy and France. CEWA have appointed Mrs Lisa Liebregts as the Short Term Principal in my absence. Term 3 finishes on Friday 24 September for all teachers and students and Term 4 commences on Tuesday 13 October for the students. The staff will participate in a professional learning day on Catholic mission and saints on Monday 12 October. I will be back for the start of next term and I look forward to seeing everyone again.

Kindergarten 2027 I am well into the enrolment process for next year’s intake. If you have a younger child who is coming here next year, please contact the front office immediately.
