From the Principal – Term 1, Week 9

As we are getting closer to Easter, I invite all families to make a time to come along to one of the weekend Masses in our parish. Lent is a very special time of reflection and praying on the way we think about our relationship with God. I know that Fr John would love to see you this Easter, especially as it will be his last one as our parish priest. Fr John will retire shortly after Easter and we will have a new priest for the first time in 37 years. I think we will still see a bit of Fr John as he intends to live onsite in his retirement. On behalf of our community, I would like to thank Fr John for his massive contribution to our school and parish, and I wish him every blessing and happiness as he moves into the next phase of his life. Our community certainly will be quite different without him.

During the coming weeks, our school will participate in a Quality Catholic Education School Review. These reviews take place every few years and it is an opportunity for us to reflect upon our achievements of the past three years. We also then set some goals for the areas of focus and improvement we would like to work towards over the next three years. I personally believe that our community is in excellent shape on many fronts. I have worked in eight different schools over the years, and this one certainly is by far the most well resourced. When you add a community of supportive parents and dedicated teachers, it leads to be a place of welcome, inclusion and happiness for all of our students.
