Penola 2022 – Issue 19

By now, I’m sure most of you have read that due to an increase in federal government funding next year, CEWA has recommended that we reduce our fees by 25% to help our families during these challenging financial times. Like you, I sent my own children to Catholic schools, and I realise the commitment you are making. However, upon reflection, I believe it was one of the best decisions my wife and I made for our daughters who have since grown up to be fine young women.

Penola 2022 – Issue 18

I can’t believe that it’s only about six weeks to Christmas! The teachers are busy writing reports and preparing for all our end of year activities. The Year 6 students are in their final weeks here at Mary Mac, and we are about to welcome a new intake of Kindergarten students. Before you know it, summer will be here, and we will be enjoying time together with our families over the Christmas vacation. Before then, we still have plenty to do, and I invite all members of our community to engage in the usual end of year activities. The main one being the AGM of the School Advisory Council and P&F on Monday 21 November from 5.15pm in the Hall. Please come along and support these important parent bodies and hear what they have achieved this year. As usual, the P&F are always looking for new members to join in with our community building activities.

Penola 2022 – Issue 17

Welcome back to the final term of the year. It’s hard to believe that we are at this point in time already! I have just returned from a wonderful vacation in Europe and I would like to thank Mrs Lisa Liebregts for doing a fantastic job as Short Term Principal in my absence. It is very comforting to know that I can take time away from here and not have to worry about anything as both Lisa Liebregts and Jacki Tucker have everything under control. I spent five weeks travelling through Germany and Croatia and it is so good to be able to travel again in a post Covid world.
