Physical Education

Health and Physical Education provides students with an understanding of health issues and the skills needed for confident participation in sport and recreational activities. This enables students to make responsible decisions about health and physical activity and to promote their own and others’ health and well-being.

Physical Education classes are conducted by a Specialist Physical Education teacher from Pre-Primary to Year 6 classes for sixty minutes each week. Instruction allows for the development of fundamental movement skills that provide the foundation to competent and confident participation in a range of physical activities. Through the year levels, these skills are built upon to support lifelong participation and enhanced performance in physical activities.

The school conducts an introductory gymnastics program for Pre-Primary and Year One classes during Terms 2 & 3. The sporting calendar includes carnivals at school and inter-school level in swimming, cross-country and athletics (for various age groups). Year 6 students are also involved in Eagles Cup competitions involving football, netball and soccer.

The school also provides various extra-curricular sporting opportunities for students to participate in at times throughout the year. This includes AusKick for Ballajura Football Club and our own junior netballers training for fun sessions.
