Please read the following clarifications of the school uniform.

  1. HAIR
  • Boys must have their hair cut above their shirt collar
  • Any ‘radical’ hairstyles (eg. undercuts, shaved patterns, bald lines and colouring) are not permitted.
  • No hair should be cut lower than a Number 2.
  • Boys and girls with hair longer than their shirt collar must have it tied back in a plait, pony-tail or bun.
  • Gel is permitted.
  • School scrunchie, school headband or blue ribbons only to be worn.
  1. JEWELLERY
  • Earrings- only two styles of earring may be worn: 1. simple, plain silver/gold studs (may include a small stone) 2. small sleepers
  • Earrings- studs are not be in the shape of flowers etc.
  • Rings/bangles/bracelets- of any description, may not be worn, unless they identify a specific medical condition.
  • A wrist-watch or a Medical Alert bracelet may be worn.
  • A necklace with religious significance, which may be worn under the school uniform.
  1. STOCKINGS
  • Stockings may be worn during the winter months.
  • Stockings must be skin- coloured ONLY (white, blue, grey, black or any other colour MUST NOT be worn).
  • Girls are not permitted to wear any other form or garment under their school dresses- this includes leggings and tracksuit pants.
  • Girls may choose to wear white school socks, with stockings if they find this more comfortable than stockings only. These must be worn under the stockings.
  1. TIES
  • Both girls and boys must wear a school tie, during the winter terms (Term 2 & 3)
  • Ties must be worn correctly at all times. This includes;
    • Top buttons of shirts must be done up
    • Ties must sit up at the top button of the shirt
  1. SHOES & SANDALS

In an effort to allow greater comfort and better support for our students’ feet, there will be some slight changes made to our foot ware policy in the future. Parents are permitted to follow these amendments when their child’s current school foot ware is replaced. We also understand and appreciate that finding predominantly white sandshoes/sneakers can be problematic at times and that with a changing market there is greater availability to well-priced sneakers that may not be white in colour. We have taken much feedback on this and responded to support our families.

  • School Shoe: Black leather (or leather quality) laced or velcro tie
  • Blue or brown, dress sandal
  • Sport Shoe: a comfortable, sports shoe can be worn. It no longer MUST be predominately white.
    • No boots (basketball boots included), speciality athletic shoe or casual sneakers
    • Avoid ‘loud’, fluorescent colours.

Please note:

  • The uniform is compulsory
  • The correct school uniform is to be worn at all times. It is a family responsibility to ensure that students have the required items of uniform.  Family support for a high standard of uniform will also help the development of student self-discipline.
  • The uniform is, at all times, to be in a neat, clean and tidy, and kept in good repair.
  • The school jumper only is to be worn with the winter school uniform- boys and girls. No tracksuit jackets.
  • Shoes must be polished.
  • Socks must be the school socks with the school name on them.
  • Socks are not to be worn with sandals.
  • With the exception of shoes, sandals and sandshoes which may be purchased from any of your usual stores, ALL ITEMS ARE TO BE PURCHASED THROUGH THE SCHOOL’S UNIFORM SHOP
  • A necklace with religious significance, which may be worn under the school uniform.
  • Make-up – Make-up and nail varnish are not to be worn.
  • Hats – All children are required to wear the school hat, throughout the school year, at recess, lunch time and sport times.
  • School Bag – The school bag is optional and is available from the Uniform Shop.

Parents are asked to ensure that all items of clothing are clearly marked with the child’s name in full.  No initials please.

The staff will be under instruction to monitor the standard of dress and presentation each day.  The following steps will be implemented if a child is wearing the incorrect uniform:

  1. The teacher will informally remind the child to wear the correct uniform the next day.
  2. If the child continues to wear the incorrect uniform a note will be sent home asking you to ensure your child wears the correct uniform. You will be asked to respond to this note if your child is not in the correct uniform the following day. There may be a valid reason as to why your child is not in uniform.
  3. If your child still continues to wear the incorrect uniform the Assistant Principal/Principal will be notified.

Thank you for your continued support in keeping uniform standards at a high level. It is appreciated.

Kindest regards

Mr Laurie Bechelli

Principal
