Dear Parents and Caregivers

Every year at this time, we ask ourselves where the year went. I think we know where this one went! 2022 will go down as one of the most challenging years ever, yet, we managed to pull through in good shape thanks to the love, kindness and support we showed to each other. I think Mary MacKillop would be very proud of this community which bears her name.

Resilience Reflection We must be willing to let go of the life we planned so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

Advent This weekend is the third week of Advent, a time in which we celebrate the birth of Jesus and his important teachings of healing and forgiveness which he brought to us throughout his time amongst us. Please do make every effort to support our parish by going to Mass during Advent. I know Fr John and Fr Mark would love to see you.

Year 6 Thanksgiving Mass On Thursday 8 December at 8.45am, we say farewell to our Year 6 students who will be leaving us to start a new adventure in 2023. The Year 6 students will then have their last day at Outback Splash having fun and enjoying each others’ company before they have their farewell dinner on Saturday 10 December at the Macedonian Club.

Dates 2023 The start of next year will be a little different as the students will return on Wednesday 1 February instead of the usual Monday start. The teachers will be at school from Monday 30 January, participating in professional development. Please note that the office will open on Tuesday 24 January. The staff list for next year is available on the school’s website so you will know exactly where everyone will be working. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you a peaceful and holy Christmas. I think we have well and truly deserved this break! I would also like to wish all staff members, students and families who are leaving our community, all the very best for the future. Your contributions here are greatly appreciated and you are always welcome to come back and visit. Finally, I would like to thank you for your flexibility and understanding this year, especially in the early part during Covid when we bombarded you with ever changing health and safety regulations. I really appreciate how understanding you were and how you worked with us as we did our best to keep everyone safe and well. Take care this summer and I look forward to working with you once again in February next year.

Yours sincerely
Laurie Bechelli
