Dear Parents and Caregivers
As we are getting closer to Easter, I invite all families to make a time to come along to one of the weekend Masses in our parish. Lent is a very special time of reflection and praying on the way we think about our relationship with God. I know that Fr John would love to see you this Easter, especially as it will be his last one as our parish priest. Fr John will retire shortly after Easter and we will have a new priest for the first time in 37 years. I think we will still see a bit of Fr John as he intends to live onsite in his retirement. On behalf of our community, I would like to thank Fr John for his massive contribution to our school and parish, and I wish him every blessing and happiness as he moves into the next phase of his life. Our community certainly will be quite different without him.
Kindergarten 2026 I have already started interviewing for 2026 and the interest so far is very strong. Again, if you have a child coming next year, you need to let the office know immediately. Please do not leave it to the last minute. Both classes were filled this year, and it is looking likely that both will fill next year too. I sincerely would not like to see one of our siblings miss out!
Scripture Reflection John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son for us, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Edu Dance Concert After a whole term of busy rehearsals, we get to see the final product for the PP to Year 6 Blue classes on Monday 7 April from 6pm in the hall. All students are requested to meet their teachers in their classrooms at 5.45pm in their costumes. As usual, it promises to be a spectacular event.
Stations of the Cross All parents and grandparents are invited to attend our very special reflection of the Stations of the Cross on Thursday 10 April at 8.45am in our Church. This is not a Mass, but instead a reflection of Jesus’ final day on earth leading up to the cross. Miss Talicia Fazio will be preparing the students and their classes as they lead us through the 14 stations.
Term Dates Please note that the last day of this term is Friday 11 April. Term 2 commences for the students on Tuesday 29 April. The teachers will be here the day before participating in a professional development day focusing on the Berry St Education Model and its trauma informed practices. I will be taking some Long Service Leave during the first three weeks of next term. CEWA has appointed Mrs Lisa Liebregts as the Short Term Principal in my absence. I know that everyone will support Lisa during this time. I take this opportunity to wish all members of our community a safe and holy Easter. I look forward to seeing you in Week 4 next term.
Yours sincerely
Laurie Bechelli
Principal
