Dear Parents and Caregivers
I am currently at the Ern Halliday Recreation Campsite in Hillarys with our Year 6 students watching them having the time of their lives participating in activities such as archery, flying fox, indoor wall climbing, orienteering, high ropes activities, BMX and lots and lots of team building games. I know all the students and staff will come home on Friday exhausted, but happy. The camp is a rare opportunity to work together away from the school setting, building friendships and taking on challenges you never thought you were capable of achieving. There is nothing better than seeing students grow in confidence before your eyes as they overcome their fear of heights or other challenges they thought were beyond their reach.
Kindergarten 2026 I have already started interviewing for 2026 and the interest so far is very strong. Again, if you have a child coming next year, you need to let the office know immediately. Please do not leave it to the last minute. Both classes were filled this year, and it is looking likely that both will fill next year too. I sincerely would not like to see one of our siblings miss out!
Scripture Reflection Isaiah 41:10 “Do not fear for I am with you, do not be afraid for I am your God, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.”
First Holy Communion The big moment has arrived for our Year 4 students as they will finally be making their First Holy Communion over the coming weekend of 14 and 15 June. Some students will be receiving this important sacrament on the Saturday night at 6.00pm and others on the Sunday at 9.30am. The Saturday night Mass will be celebrated by Fr John and the Sunday morning one will be celebrated by Fr Vinh. Please keep our students in your prayers during this time. I would also like to thank our Year 4 teachers, Chris Smith and Karen Noone and any other staff members who assisted in preparing for this special occasion.
Reports I am currently reading the reports the teachers have written for all students across the school. From what I have seen so far, they are very impressive. The reports will be available online to all parents from Monday 30 June at 4.00pm. This will give you will have a couple of days to contact the teachers and request an interview if you have any questions. Writing reports is a massive task and I thank all teachers for their efforts as most of these were written in their own time away from school.
