Dear Parents and Caregivers
I can’t believe that we have finished Term One already! As usual, life in a big and complex community like ours is always going to be busy. This week is Holy Week which is the final week of Lent and I’m sure you have taken some time to reflect upon the meaning of Easter. Please make every effort to attend Mass this weekend and support our beautiful parish. I know Fr Vinh would love to see you there. We also say farewell to Mr Maxwell who has been one of our Assistant Principals over the past couple of years. I know Tim will be missed by many people and I thank him for his hard work here in the service of our students and families. I wish Tim every blessing and happiness as he moves into the next phase of his life. Mr Chris Smith will take over for the rest of the year as Mr Maxwell’s replacement. Chris has been an Assistant Principal and Principal in other Catholic schools and he brings a vast wealth of experience and knowledge to the role. I’m sure Chris will do a great job as Assistant Principal.

Kindergarten 2027 I have already started the enrolment process for next year’s intake. If you have a younger child who is coming here next year, please contact the front office immediately. Also, our playgroup starts next term and we have already enrolled 15 students which is wonderful. It will run every Thursday morning from 8.45am to 10.30am in the Kindergarten rooms. Mrs Dalglish and Mrs Zdraveski will lead it. Please remember that all children attending the playgroup must be always accompanied by a parent.
Passion Liturgy As is tradition at Mary Mac, we will be holding a liturgy in the Church on Thursday 2 April from 11.00am which focuses on the passion of Jesus. Please note that this is a new time and date from what was previously advertised. Parents and grandparents are most welcome to join us in reflection.
Dates Term 1 ends on Thursday 2 April (which is Holy Thursday) and Term 2 commences on Monday 20 April. School resumes for all students on Monday 20 April. The following Monday, 27 April is the ANZAC Day public holiday and we are holding a professional development day for the staff on Tuesday 28 April, which means the students get an extra long weekend in Week 2 next term. I wish all members of our community a safe and holy Easter and I look forward to seeing you again next term.
