From the Principal – Term 3, Week 9

Sep 16, 2026

Dear Parents and Caregivers

As most of you will already be aware, our Principal, Mr Laurie Bechelli, is currently on pilgrimage in France and Italy. Laurie was kind enough to prepare this newsletter before he left, so I am sharing it with you in his absence. While Laurie is away, I’ll be keeping things ticking over here at school…..business as usual! We wish Laurie a wonderful and meaningful pilgrimage and look forward to hearing about his travels when he returns.

Scripture Reflection Psalm 23: 2-3 ”In green pastures he makes me lie down; to still waters he leads me; he restores my soul.”

Edu Dance The Edu Dance concert is almost upon us and it will be held in the hall for all students in the PP to Year 6 Gold classes, commencing at 6.00pm on Monday 21 September. All students are required to meet in their classrooms at 5.45pm in their costumes. The Kindy students will be doing their own special performance earlier in the day and parents have been notified separately.

Whole School Mass The final Mass for the term will be held on Thursday 24 September at 9.00am in the Church. The Year 1 classes are leading it and all parents and grandparents are most welcome to join us. It is always extra special when our junior students lead these Masses as we can see just how much they have progressed this year.

Kindergarten 2027 I am well into the enrolment process for next year’s intake. If you have a younger child who is coming here next year, please contact the front office immediately.

Summer Uniform Please remember that all students are required to wear their summer uniforms when they return next term. If you are unsure of what to wear, have a look on our website as it shows very clearly what is expected. It is important that all students turn up to school every day wearing the correct uniform. This is more of a responsibility for parents than the students. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Faction Carnival Our annual faction carnival will be held on the oval on Friday 16 October (weather permitting). As usual, we have booked a coffee van and the Netball club will be running the sausage sizzle for your enjoyment. I’m sure, many of you have already set the day aside!

Dates Friday 25 September is the last day of term for all staff and students. I’m sure that everyone is looking forward to a well earned rest these holidays. Please note that school recommences on Tuesday 13 October for the students. The staff will be taking part in an off site retreat on Monday 12 October, focusing on our Catholic mission and studying the lives of a number of saints who continue to inspire us to continue doing God’s work. Naturally, one of these saints will be Mary MacKillop! I wish all students and their families a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing you next term.

Lisa Liebregts
Short Term Principal
