P&F News

Sep 2, 2020

There are HEAPS of exciting things happening in the P & F this fortnight: Father’s Day Stall today, Father’s Day Raffle tickets due today and drawn on Friday 4th September, Sports Carnival Coloured Hairspray next Wednesday 9th September, Movie Night on Friday 11th September, and Cards That Count artwork templates available.  See below for details…

Father’s Day Stall & Raffle

We hope that students enjoyed the Father’s Day Stall today and bought something special to give on Father’s Day. If you child was absent or forgot their money today, they will be able to buy a gift tomorrow or Friday. Please let their teacher know.

Today is also the last day to buy raffle tickets for the Father’s Day Raffle. Last minute raffle ticket purchases can be paid by direct debit and sent to pandf@mmccps.wa.edu.au.

The raffle will be drawn on: FRIDAY 4th September 2020.

The money raised by the Father’s Day Stall and Raffle will go towards the playground upgrade that has begun with the flying fox on the main oval and the creek bed water play area in the K/PP area. We thank you in advance for your support.

Movie Night

FRIDAY 11th SEPTEMBER in the School Hall

Bring the whole family, order your dinner and enjoy a fun and easy family night out! The movie screening will be ‘Secret Life of Pets 2’ as voted by our students. Doors open 5:30pm, with the movie starting at 6:30pm. Please make sure that you pre-order food and drinks so that you don’t miss out. Limited food and drinks will be available for purchase on the night. The ‘Candy Bar’ will also be available on the night. Tickets will be available at the door until we reach capacity. Please send your family’s order form into the school office OR email to pandf@mmccps.wa.edu.au . Payment can be made by direct debit to the P & F account OR by cash.

Order forms are due by WEDNESDAY 9th SEPTEMBER.

The P & F have been given approval to go ahead with the Movie Night on FRIDAY 11th SEPTEMBER. We had always planned to run the Movie Night within the Phase 4 guidelines. As Phase 5 was meant to be imminent at the first date, we were asked to postpone the event. We are excited that this event can now go ahead. We will be abiding by the 2sqm rule so it is important that you submit your order form and let us know if under Kindy aged kids are attending with you, even though they have free entry. We ask that all families bring a blanket to mark your area and maintain your family’s social distancing. Each family are asked to maintain 1.5m social distancing from other families. Hand sanitiser will be available and we ask that all attendees exercise healthy hygiene. All P & F volunteers on the night will have completed the COVID 19 Infection Control Training course. Every reasonable measure has been taken to ensure everyone’s absolute safety so that we can still enjoy our annual Movie Night! We hope to see you all there!

Sports Carnival

The P & F are again offering coloured hairspray for a gold coin donation in the Undercover Area from 8:00 to 8:30am on the morning of the Sports Carnival. Hairspray will only be applied to children who have a completed permission slip with them.

We have also organised for a local coffee van to supply hot drinks to parents through-out the day.

Cards that Count

After all that’s happened this year, perhaps this Christmas is the time to get back to the tradition of sending proper Christmas cards to loved ones far away? Or would you like to create some special personalised Birthday cards? The P & F are again offering Cards That Count for you to create your own personalised cards, made in Australia on 100% recycled paper. Your child (and you) can create as many artworks as you wish, free of charge. They are uploaded for you to place your orders. Please let the P & F know if you would like some artwork templates so that you can create your own unique gift cards for Christmas, Birthday’s or any other occasion, while raising money for our school!

The artwork templates must be returned to the School Office by Wednesday 30th September 2020.

New Treasurer

I must sadly inform you that our Treasurer, Daniel Armenti, has made the difficult decision to resign from his role due to a demanding new job. He has made a great contribution to the P & F this year. I would like to warmly thank Daniel for all of his contributions. Thank you Daniel!  Tara Clark has offered to fill the position of Treasurer for the rest of the year. Thank you Tara for taking on this role!

Entertainment Books

The P & F continue to offer ENTERTAINMENT BOOKS. If you are interested, please visit https://www.entertainment.com.au/orderbooks/861g83. Proceeds go back to our school community.

Second-Hand Uniforms

If you would like to purchase any second-hand uniforms, please contact Anita Andrews on 0412 866 588. The second-hand uniform shop is located next to the netball courts. Payments can be made by cash or direct deposit to the P & F account: (BSB: 066 167; AC: 105 100 78; Ref: “Uniform” + Receipt Number).

If you have any unwanted uniform items, please drop them into the office to be donated to our shop.

The second-hand uniform shop is operated by our parent volunteers, with proceeds going back to our school community.

School Banking

Did you know that when your child banks with School Banking, not only do they learn about the value of money and build their savings, but the P & F and the School benefit? Your child earns interest on their savings account and is rewarded with prizes from the Rewards Program. Every time your child banks 10 times with a minimum deposit of 5c, the P & F receives $5. The P & F also receive a bonus for the number of students that bank in the year. So get involved and contact our School Banking Coordinators and parent volunteers: Amy Lam (thelams@iinet.net.au) and Dee Wright (Dee-Beau@live.com.au).

Don’t forget to bring your deposit wallets to school on Wednesday’s.

P & F Disco

P & F Disco will be on the 30th October. Please save the date. More details to come soon.

Next Meeting

Our NEXT MEETING will be on MONDAY 21st SEPTEMBER at 8:45am. If you would like an item raised at a P & F meeting, please let us know. Follow us on Facebook: Mary MacKillop P&F, or send us an e-mail at pandf@mmccps.wa.edu.au.

What a fantastic fortnight we have ahead of us! Enjoy!
