P&F News

Oct 15, 2020

Wow! We are already in Term 4! I hope that everyone had a great holiday and are returning rejuvenated. The biggest event of this term for the P & F calendar is the Disco on the 30th October. It will be an extravaganza. See below for more details.

We have our final P & F meeting on Monday 19th October at 8.45am. Everyone is welcome to come! We will be planning the disco and we would love some fresh ideas and a bit of extra help to make sure it runs smoothly.

P & F Disco

30th October from 5:30pm on the School Oval

As the final P & F event of the year, we wanted to create a disco to remember. All families are invited to come and enjoy the fun. For the first time, we are having an open-air disco on the oval. We have organised a pizza food truck, an ice cream van, fairy floss, slushies, a fabulous face painter, lawn games and glow sticks. Bring your picnic blanket and enjoy the atmosphere. Entry is $3 for primary school-aged children and free for everyone else.

Order forms for entry tickets are due Wednesday 28th October.

As we need to maintain the 2 sqm rule, we are limited on the number of people who can attend. If we have not reached capacity on the order forms, we will continue to sell entry tickets at the gate.

As per tradition, the Yr 6s have selected the theme. This year’s theme is Neon Halloween! We encourage everyone to dress up. The Yr 6s are invited to an exclusive disco in the hall from 7:45pm – 8:30pm. Everyone else is welcome to continue enjoying our wonderful community on the oval.

We need some volunteers to ensure that the night runs smoothly. If you can help us set up, monitor during the event, sell drinks/slushies, sell glow sticks or pack up, it would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please contact the P & F on pandf@mmccps.wa.edu.au. All helpers will be confirmed via email, Messenger or Text before the disco.

P & F Second Hand Uniform Shop

If you would like to purchase any second-hand uniforms, please contact Anita Andrews on 0412 866 588. The second-hand uniform shop is located next to the netball courts. Payments can be made by cash or direct deposit to the P & F account: (BSB: 066 167; AC: 105 100 78; Ref: “Uniform” + Receipt Number).

If you have any unwanted uniform items, please drop them into the office to be donated to our shop.

The second hand uniform shop is operated by our parent volunteers, with proceeds going back to our school community.

School Banking

Did you know that when your child banks with School Banking, not only do they learn about the value of money and build their savings, but the P & F and the School benefit? Your child earns interest on their savings account and is rewarded with prizes from the Rewards Program. Every time your child banks 10 times with a minimum deposit of 5c, the P & F receives $5. The P & F also receive a bonus for the number of students that bank in the year. So get involved and contact our School Banking Coordinators and parent volunteers: Amy Lam (thelams@iinet.net.au) and Dee Wright (Dee-Beau@live.com.au).

Don’t forget to bring your deposit wallets to school on Wednesday’s.

Next Meeting

Our NEXT MEETING will be on MONDAY 19th OCTOBER at 8:45am. Everyone is welcome to attend. If you would like an item raised at a P & F meeting, please let us know. Follow us on Facebook: Mary MacKillop P&F, or send us an e-mail at pandf@mmccps.wa.edu.au.

Wishing everyone a fabulous final term for 2020.
