School Fees

Thank you to all families who have paid school fees to date or have setup a payment plan for the year.  There are quite a few families who did not return their Payment Option form so it is expected that you will be paying each Term due dates:

Term 1 overdue 25/2/2022   If you haven’t yet paid please do so by Friday this week 18/3/22

Statements were re-sent by email and hardcopy last week to those families.  Please contact the school office if you have not received your statement by now.

Term 2 due 29/4/22, Term 3 due 22/7/22 and Term 4 due 18/10/22

If you are experiencing financial hardship please contact myself or Laurie Bechelli immediately to discuss your particular situation in confidence.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this.

Library  News

Welcome back to another year.  The Library has many new books – many fiction and non-fiction.  Below is a non-fiction book which will be ready for borrowing next week.

Title ‘Sea country’ written by Aunty Patsy Cameron & Lisa Kennedy.

“My people are proud, strong people.  We are the descendants of Mannalargenna of the Pairrebeene Trawlwoolway clan.  We grew up on Flinders Island in eastern Bass Strait.  The bush and the beach were our playground.  We were free there, to hear Country speaking to us.”

Sea Country will give you everything you need, if you watch and listen.

Canteen News

The new Semester 1 CANTEEN MENU for 2022 is available on the MMCCPS website or alternatively if you require a hard copy, at the office or canteen. Please refer to this new menu ONLY, as many changes have taken place, with freshly made products.

The canteen operates on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. To alleviate using money, Mary MacKillop Catholic Community Primary School has an online ordering system for canteen orders.  This enables a more efficient and effective service available to you and your family.

You can visit quickcliq.com.au to register.

Canteen tokens are available to purchase from the office or canteen at a cost of $32 per sheet. Lunch/recess order bags are available from the canteen, 20 bags for $1.  Please ensure your child’s name and correct class are written clearly on bags. Separate bags must be written for recess and lunch. PLEASE DO NOT USE STICKY TAPE OR STAPLES TO SECURE LUNCH BAGS.

All lunch/recess orders must be placed in classroom baskets before the class commences. They will then be taken to the canteen.  If your child is late, they are to take the lunch order directly to the canteen.

All prepaid drink orders from Yrs 1-6 are to be collected by your child at the canteen with their lunch order bags as proof of purchase.

Ice creams are then sold after the students are dismissed from eating their lunch. If ice creams are pre-ordered, the bag must be shown at the canteen when picking up the ice cream.

Please note, your child can purchase a drink or ice cream without pre-ordering if they have money.

Parents, please do not allow your children to buy icecreams for their friends and no large amounts of money should not be given to them.  Thank you for your co operation in this matter.

If you wish to volunteer in the canteen please come and see me, we would love your help.

If you have any queries, please come and see either myself or Kath and we will be happy to help.

Regards,
Sylvia Iggleden.

Harmony Day at Mary MacKillop

“Everyone Belongs”

Let’s celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity with Harmony Day.

When: Monday 21st March

Dress: Students can wear their national costume or the colour orange

(Students in year 3 and 5 will need to wear appropriate shoes for their usual Phys-Ed lesson)

Students will enjoy Harmony Day activities in class throughout the day to remind us to appreciate everyone, and to value each other’s unique cultural background. Harmony Day is about loving and understanding different cultures and ways of life, and seeing how these cultures can fit together.  It’s about inclusiveness, respect and creating a sense of belonging for everyone.
