Dear Parents and Caregivers

I would like to thank and acknowledge our small, but wonderful P&F for organising such a successful event at Scitech last Friday night. It was an excellent evening where the children got to spend some time with their parents in a fun and engaging way, whilst learning about science in the process. In total, 270 parents and children attended, and the evening was fully funded by the P&F which is greatly appreciated. A big thank you is extended to Allison Fox, our P&F grandma superstar who did a lot of the work organising this occasion for the benefit of our whole community. Your efforts are greatly appreciated Allison!

Awareness/Compassion Reflection The purpose of human life is to serve, and to show compassion along with the will to help others.

First Holy Communion As our Year 4 students are in the final stages of preparing to receive the Sacrament this weekend of Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 May, I ask you to please keep them in your prayers during this exciting time. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to their teachers, Mrs Nottle and Mrs Noone for all of their excellent work preparing our students. A special thank you is also extended to Fr John, Fr Mark and Mr Maxwell for their support throughout the whole process. I’m sure it will be a special weekend for everyone.

Year 6 Camp It’s hard to believe that it’s that time of year again where we take our Year 6 students to Ern Halliday Recreation Camp in Hillarys for three days of action packed fun, adventure and challenge. Our students will be pushed out of their comfort zones as they engage in activities such as rock wall climbing, flying fox, big swing, orienteering, caving, BMX riding, lots of team building games and the very popular Lost Pilot. Every year, this camp becomes the highlight for the Year 6s and they amaze themselves with the things they can achieve. Myself and Mr Maxwell will be going to the camp along with Mrs Strecker and Miss Di Girolami. I take this opportunity to thank the Year 6 teachers for their work, time and energy preparing for this fabulous experience.

Foundation Day Holiday After the camp, I think we will need a mini break and the long weekend of Monday 5 June should provide that perfectly. I’m sure everyone else will welcome the long weekend! Please keep our teachers in your thoughts as many of them will be using the long weekend to write mid year reports.

Yours sincerely
Laurie Bechelli
