School Fees

Due to the changed restrictions with COVID-19 and WA Government directives, the school will not be able to accept in person school fee payments until further notice.      The school offers several other payment methods for you to choose from.

Your school fee statement has been emailed out to your again with the Payment Option form on page two.  IF YOU TICKED TO PAY YOUR FEES “IN PERSON” VIA EFTPOS, you will need to re-complete your form with an alternative option as soon as possible.  Please ignore the box indicating payments in person at the school office.  This option is not now available

All forms must be completed and returned to the school by every family please.

If you have any questions please email or contact me directly and I’ll be happy to assist.  Thank you for your continued support for the school in paying your fees, it is very appreciated.

Kind regards

Being Covid Ready

With the increasing presence of Coronavirus in our community it is wise for families to consider having a Covid-ready-plan. Being prepared can help to reduce our anxiety when facing uncertain situations.  As you will be aware, most people who are fully vaccinated and get COVID-19 will experience mild symptoms, just as you would for many other mild viruses. The majority of people will be able to manage their symptoms at home while isolating. Others may need to go into hospital.

These are some suggestions from WA Health as to what you should have ready in your home:

  1. Face masks, hand sanitiser and gloves
  2. Pain relief medication and electrolytes (available from your pharmacy or supermarket)
  3. Your regular medications
  4. Thermometer
  5. Should you need to go to hospital, you will need a plan to look after your children, pets, or people in your care
  6. How will you get food delivered? Will it be through a supermarket or can your support person help?
  7. Ensure you have the phone numbers for people you can call if you need help
  8. Make sure you have activities to keep you and others in your house, such as children, entertained

It’s timely to consider who you have available to assist you to care for your children if you become unwell. A family covid ready plan could be a great way to document your children’s routines, medical needs, and any special needs that they may have, so that this information is readily available to a carer. It’s important to consider your accommodation options in the event that you do have a positive case of Covid, or a person deemed a close contact living in your home, and how you will isolate and provide for their care. More information about this is available on the WA Health website https://www.healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/A_E/Coronavirus There is also some very practical information available in this guide about Covid, children and parenting. https://raisingchildren.net.au/guides/coronavirus-covid-19-guide

We know that periods of isolation or quarantine can place pressure on family relationships and impact our emotional wellbeing, so please consider ways to look after your mental health during this time. Please reach out to our school social worker should you need any support or have any concerns about your family’s wellbeing and ability to manage throughout the pandemic. Lisa.Mueller@cewa.edu.au  The Beyond Blue Coronavirus Mental Wellbeing Support Service is also available 24 hours a day/7 days a week if you require wellbeing support – Call 1800 512 348.

Canteen News

The new Semester 1 CANTEEN MENU for 2022 is available on the MMCCPS website or alternatively if you require a hard copy, at the office or canteen. Please refer to this new menu ONLY, as many changes have taken place, with freshly made products.

The canteen operates on Monday, Wednesday & Friday. To alleviate using money, Mary MacKillop Catholic Community Primary School has an online ordering system for canteen orders.  This enables a more efficient and effective service available to you and your family.

You can visit quickcliq.com.au to register.

Canteen tokens are available to purchase from the office or canteen at a cost of $32 per sheet. Lunch/recess order bags are available from the canteen, 20 bags for $1.  Please ensure your child’s name and correct class are written clearly on bags. Separate bags must be written for recess and lunch. PLEASE DO NOT USE STICKY TAPE OR STAPLES TO SECURE LUNCH BAGS.

All lunch/recess orders must be placed in classroom baskets before the class commences. They will then be taken to the canteen.  If your child is late, they are to take the lunch order directly to the canteen.

All prepaid drink orders from Yrs 1-6 are to be collected by your child at the canteen with their lunch order bags as proof of purchase.

Ice creams are then sold after the students are dismissed from eating their lunch. If ice creams are pre-ordered, the bag must be shown at the canteen when picking up the ice cream.

Please note, your child can purchase a drink or ice cream without pre-ordering if they have money.

Parents, please do not allow your children to buy icecreams for their friends and no large amounts of money should not be given to them.  Thank you for your co operation in this matter.

If you wish to volunteer in the canteen please come and see me, we would love your help.

If you have any queries, please come and see either myself or Kath and we will be happy to help.

Regards,
Sylvia Iggleden.
